Welcome to day nine of the transfer blog.
Yesterday saw a lot of movement on the continent as Axel Tuanzebe and Ainsley Maitland-Niles completed loan moves to Napoli and AS Roma respectively.
There was more activity from Serie A as Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne finalised his move to MLS giants Toronto FC, a move he will make after his season with Napoli concludes.
In the Premier League, there is a lot still to come.
After a scalding in the FA Cup at the hands of League One Cambridge, Newcastle will be itching to get more business done.
They continue to be heavily linked with Lille’s Sven Botman, but as of yet no agreement has been reached over the central defender.
Adama Traore might still leave Wolves if the right offer comes in.
And there could be activity at the top end of the Premier League, with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stating that the club remain ‘alert’ to goings-on in the market.
Liverpool assistant coach Peter Krawietz said the club could ‘react’ and add to their squad if they are further hit by Covid and injuries.
We will also bring you updates on transfers closer to home as League of Ireland clubs continue to work hard behind the scenes.
It is sure to be another busy day, so stay tuned.
