Lil Devin dead: Rapper killed aged 24 after ‘masked men’ storm New Year’s Eve party

American rapper Lil Devin has been killed after a group of masked men reportedly stormed a New Year’s Eve party – sparking a police hunt for the killers.

The 24-year-old musician was killed in front of horrified family members – before being rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Lil Devin, whose real name is Devin Swain, sustained “injuries to his chest” but the exact cause of death has not been revealed.

The incident took place in the city of Anderson in Indiana with police being called out over reports of a home invasion robbery.

The rapper’s brother, Donald Cox, told Fox59 : “It was traumatic very traumatic some thing that I wouldn’t want anyone to ever go through. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone’s family.

“It’s definitely hard we never really expected like something like this to come about to such a phenomenal person.

“He was just one of those people that believed in me before I even believed in myself.”

Local police have appealed for witnesses to step forward with any information that could help their investigation.

Rashawn Samuels, 14, who was coached by Lil Devin, said: “He was a good person and he was all about all the kids staying in school, doing good, listen to your parents.

“He was a good, respectful, loving person. He didn’t deserve it. He was a good person.”

Hours before the fatal incident, the rapper had shared a photograph of himself on Instagram.

He wrote alongside the image: “Everybody who f**k up be tryna find they waaayyy back to me, I was real actually. Wishing Everybody A Successful 2022.”

Fans and followers have reacted to the news of his death to leave comments of commemoration underneath the image, with one writing: “Fly high” and another typing: “Rip honored to have been in your music video <3 much luv always.”
