Anthony Martial wants to leave Manchester United in January, according to the forward’s agent.
The Frenchman has seen his opportunities at the club become vastly diminished following recent arrivals, particularly that of Cristiano Ronaldo after his return to the club in the summer.
The 26-year-old has featured 10 times this season, scoring just once in October’s 1-1 draw at home to Everton.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley said: “Anthony wishes to leave the club in January.
“He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon.”
Martial has played 268 times for United following his arrival from Monaco in 2015, scoring 79 goals.
However, he has often struggled to hold down a place in the team under several managers, most notably Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

New boss Ralf Rangnick hasn’t been able to call upon Martial for either of his games in charge so far, although he is currently nursing a knee injury.
Speaking before Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Young Boys, Rangnick said: “Anthony trained in the final session before Palace.
“After training, the doctor and the medical dept informed me he has pain on his knee. We agreed he should try to recover.”
Speaking earlier this season, former United forward Dwight Yorke said that Martial needs to improve if he is to have a future at the club.
“When you play for this club and you’re not doing the business and your form dips for whatever reason you’re going to be under scrutiny,” he told Goal.
“He’s got to buckle down really if he has a future at this football club.
“He’s undoubtedly got immense talent and all the attributes we like to see in an attacking player and there’s no question he can be that vital player for us but at the moment he’s not in the squad and he’s got to find a way to get back into the team.”
Meanwhile, the idea that Erling Haaland could replace Martial in United’s No.9 shirt has effectively been rubbished by the Norwegian’s agent Mino Raiola.
Speaking to SPORT1, Raiola said: “Maybe this summer, maybe the summer after. But there is a big chance that Erling will leave this summer. We will see.
“He can and will take the next step. Bayern, Real, Barcelona, City – these are the big clubs he can go to. City have won the championship five times in the last few years, much more than United.
“We all knew when we moved to Dortmund that this step would come.”
