LIVE Irish news updates after grim warning from Dr Holohan as schools get vaccine update

Happy Tuesday!

It’s a bitter start to the day after temperatures touched freezing overnight, with ground frost a possibility in some areas.

There’s a status yellow weather warning in place for those of you in Munster at the moment.

Met Eireann have warned of the possibility of very dense fog making things a bit treacherous on the roads, so be careful on your morning commute if you’re setting out early.

That fog should clear as the day goes on but the cold snap remains in place until at least Friday as things stand.

Meanwhile, it’s set to be another hugely important day in Ireland’s battle with Covid-19 as Christmas plans could be set to be put on hold across the nation.

Nearly 6,000 cases were reported on Monday evening, something which Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said was “concerning.”

He urged the public to cancel any plans they had made for Christmas gatherings, with a stark outlook on the whole situation being provided late on Monday by Claire Byrne.

On top of that, there’s news on the booster rollout and a key update for those of you currently receiving the PUP.

You can follow along with Tuesday’s live updates below.
