RTE viewers were full of praise for Barney Curley after an RTE documentary aired on Monday evening.
The Ross Whittaker directed Barney Curley: The Man Who Beat The Bookies took to screens on Monday and viewers praised the legendary race horse trainer and gambler.
Viewers said of Curley: “Barney Curley the legend !!”
While another said: “Barney Curley – What a man !”
And another added: “The Man who tried to give a little back.. What a special character #BarneyCurley”
And viewers were praising the documentary as a whole with critically acclaimed director Whittaker at the helm.
One RTE viewer said: “Rest in peace Barney Curley. I really enjoyed tonight’s documentary on RTE.”
And another said: “Couldn’t ask for better Monday night TV than #barneycurley Beautifully out together too. Well done to all involved in making this”
And another said: “Really enjoyed that Barney Curley documentary. What a life he led. The word legend is overused but he most definitely was one.”
Curley passed away in May 2021 aged 81.
